Breathless Riveria Cancun, nestled between the Caribbean Sea and the Lagoon of Bahia Petempich has just the atmosphere you're looking for. Just a quick 15-minute ride from Cancun International Airport and you're in paradise!
This vibrant and modern adults-only all-suite resort features 526 ultra modern suites spread out in three horseshoe-shaped buildings, each section of the resort offering up its own unique vibe. Kick back in and relax in the xhale club section, do some socializing and partake in poolside activities in the energy pool, or hop over to the xcelerate party zone pool if you're looking to take it up a notch! With a lively atmosphere all day and night, special weekly and monthly parties and events, special weekly themed parties at different restaurants, and an annual DJ program featuring trendsetting DJ’s you're bound to have the time of your life.
We stayed in an Allure Jr. Suite with Ocean view located in the xcelereate party pool zone. If you're a light sleeper we probably would not recommend this section of the hotel unless you plan on joining in the evening fun. It can get pretty loud during evening hours as we are pretty sure not much sleep happens until between 3 and 4 am. So if you looking for something a little quieter we would recommend a room around the Energy Pool or the xhale club. The xcelerate section of the resort is all about partying and having a good time. We stayed on the 4th floor and our room was decorated in a fresh and ultra-contemporary décor and offered a spectacular view of the property and ocean. The ceiling fans at this resort are the absolute bomb, moving massive amounts of air, which can help cut down on the noise level from outside when you do want to call it a night early. If you're one of those people who always sleep with a fan on no matter what, you'll end up wanting one of these for your home.
Our daily routine usually consists of beach time in the morning, joining in the poolside activities after lunch, and holding down the swim-up bar in the afternoon just to make sure it doesn't float away, and this trip was no different. However, having two different swim-up bars with different atmospheres to choose from was a great touch. The energy pool is where you will find all games, water aerobics, and daytime shows put on by the entertainment team. Between 2 and 3 pm every day we would head over to the xcelerate pool to hear the DJ and liven things up. We saw guys on stilts, acrobats, dancers, and more. This place really knows how to throw a party, especially on Fridays. During our stay, Fridays were for foam parties!
If watersports are your thing, you're in luck. Grab a kayak or paddleboard and hit the water, or take the Hobie Cat out for a spin. Snorkeling around the resort you probably won't see a whole lot since the reef is not right by the resort. If you're looking for a snorkeling or scuba excursion checkout Dive With Ruben located in the small hut between Breathless and Desires (the clothing optional resort next door). Yes, there is a clothing optional hotel right next door, but it is separated by Ruben's hut and a berm, so can't see anything unless you cross them berm. We booked a snorkeling excursion with Ruben, they will take you to two different reefs around Puerto Morelos where you will get to see a wide variety of sea life. Once nice thing about taking Rubens tour is you don't have to leave the resort, his boats will pick you right there.
Breathless Riviera Cancun offers 10 different gourmet dining options, however, restaurant openings do rotate throughout the week so you'll want to keep an out in the newsletter they slide under your door daily to see what restaurants are open for the evening. The resort has nine different bars and lounges to kick back and grab a cold or your favorite frozen concoction. There is even an iced champagne bar, Fizz, overlooking the oversized 35 person jacuzzi.
So if you looking for a party atmosphere this a great place for group trips. Breathless Resorts is definitely on our radar now, and we hope to check out more of their properties soon.
